Web accessibility

Ark should make the machine visible without creating new barriers.

Ark is committed to an inclusive processor-learning environment for people with disabilities. We design and review the experience against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA, with display preferences, keyboard navigation, and assistive-technology support throughout the learning environment.

Preferences and foundations that travel across Ark.

Display preferences

Choose 100%, 125%, 150%, or 200% text, enhanced contrast, comfortable spacing, larger controls, and a more readable editor treatment.

Keyboard foundations

Skip directly to main content, follow visible focus indicators, and open or close the accessibility dialog without a pointer.

Assistive technology first

Landmarks, headings, labelled controls, and live status messages are the foundation for system screen readers and text-to-speech tools.

Assistive technology

Use Ark with the accessibility tools already on your device.

Built on the accessible web

Ark exposes meaningful headings, regions, labels, keyboard focus, errors, and live simulator status through the browser's accessibility layer. Your screen reader stays in control; Ark does not replace it with generated speech.

Not tied to one operating system

Ark is designed for current standards-based browsers across desktop and mobile operating systems. Students can use the screen reader, voice navigation, keyboard controls, zoom, and display preferences supported by their own device.

Our standard

We design and review Ark against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA. Compatibility can vary with browser and assistive-technology versions, so please report any barrier that prevents you from completing a task.
